EUC Table Tennis 2023 concluded

 

The European Universities Table Tennis Championship has finally concluded on Sunday 9th of July with an exciting Closing Ceremony at OMEGA Sports and Health Centre. 

 

Over 130 participants (18 men’s teams and 11 women’s teams) from 24 Universities from 13 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.

 

One more European Universities Championship in Table Tennis showcased strong competition skills, great results and sportmanship and moreover great and fun athmosphere in Olomouc. 

 

 

In men’s teams finals, the title of champions went to Zamojski Academy (POL) who won a great and exciting final match against University of Pecs (HUN). 

 

 

The women’s teams finals was equally great and exciting, giving the title of champions to University of Nottingham (GBR) who won an exciting final match against University of Zagreb (CRO).

 

 

The medals and awards were presented by Ms Agita Abele, EUSA SCAC Chair, Mr Ivo Slavotínek, representative of Olomoucky region, Mr Vít Ratajsky, Organization Committee Delegate and Ms Linda Ivanova, Competition Manager.

 

 

Women’s teams:
1st place: University of Nottingham (UNITED KINGDOM)
2nd place: University of Zagreb (CROATIA)
3rd place: University of Ostrava (CZECH REPUBLIC) and Wroclaw university of Economics (POLAND)

 

 

Men’s teams:
1st place: Zamojski Academy (POLAND)
2nd place: University of Pecs (HUNGARY)
3rd place: University of Zagreb (CROATIA) and University of Porto (PORTUGAL)

 

 

Women’s doubles:

1st place: Jiaqi Meng and Denise Payet, University of Nottingham (UNITED KINGDOM)
2nd place: Katarzyna Wegrzyn and Anna Wegrzyn, Wroclaw university of Economics (POLAND)
3rd place: Zdena Blaskova and Gabriela Stepanova, University of Ostrava (CZECH REPUBLIC) and Dora Jankus and Helga Dari, University of Pecs (HUNGARY)

 

 

Men’s doubles:
1st place: Jan Zandecki and Konrad Kulpa, Zamojski Academy (POLAND)
2nd place: Kamil Kurowski and Lukasz Sokolowski, Maria Curie-Sklodowska University (POLAND)
3rd place: Dwain Steven Schwarzer and Florian Wagemann, University of Leipzig (GERMANY) and Jakub Folwarski and Damian Wederlich, Zamojski Academy (POLAND)

 

 

Women’s singles:

The Closing Ceremony of European Universities Table Tennis Championship was a memorable and pleasant event, marking the end of an incredible week filled with intense competition, matches, new friendships, adventures and great time spent in beautiful Olomouc.

 

 

Many thanks to all EUSA representatives, referees, athletes and coaches for your visit, help and the participation in the Championship. You made this event amazing.

The next EUC will take place in Burdur, Turkey from 11th to 16th of September 2025 and all teams are warmly welcomed to join the next European Universities Table Tennis Championship.
